The Blancpain Endurance Series was launched in 2011 and immediately proved to be a huge success. It has just a single class of car – GT3 – and attracted an average grid of 50 competitors in 2012. The Balance of Performance is adjusted to allow the numerous makes to compete on a level playing field. The races are exciting for the spectators and challenging for the drivers and teams. The events take place at F1 standard legendary tracks. The Spa 24 Hours, the third out of five rounds in the series’ calendar, is the flagship event of the championship and also the blue riband race for grand touring cars.
Hexis Racing discovered the challenge posed by long-distance racing in the 2011 Blancpain Endurance Series. The end of the 2012 season saw the French team win in its sole appearance in the championship at Navarra. For 2013, it has entered a 100% pro driver line-up. This dream team consists of McLaren GT works drivers, Alvaro Parente and Alexander Sims, backed up by Stef Dusseldorp who has already racked up eight victories with Hexis! Their target is the 2013 title and outright victory in the 65th Spa 24 Hours. A second McLaren, whose mission is to win the Pro-Am category, will take part in the Belgian event, with Olivier Panis, Eric Debard, Laurent Cazenave and Côme Ledogar at the wheel.
