The Hexis team scored an excellent result in the Belgian round of the FIA GT1 World Championship. The two McLarens finished both races, which represents an important step forward after the technical problems the team had to face in France and at the beginning of the Zolder event. After their 4th place finish in Saturday’s qualifying race, Fred Makowiecki and Stef Dusseldorp drove a solid race to cross the line in 5th. The #2 car driven by Greg Demoustier and Alvaro Parente recovered from 10th to finish 7th. The Hexis McLarens eventually sandwiched the Championship leading Audi. “We worked really hard to improve both the reliability and the set-up of the cars. We also had to choose the right strategy in terms of tyres to cope with the changeable track conditions. At this stage of the season and of the car’s developpement, this overall result feels like a victory to us” said team-manager Philippe Dumas.
